James Wellington
James Welling is a remarkable photographer that began as a watercolor painter and molded into a black and white, later color, photo artist. He was born in Hartford, Connecticut in 1951 and studied at a multitude of universities, such as West Hartfor Art Leauge, Carnegie Mellon and CalArts. An interesting fact is that Welling was never formally trained in photography, but bought a used Burke and James 4 x 5 inch view camera in 1976. From there, he experimented with Polaroids and abstract photography. Currently, he teaches at UCLA changed the photography curriculum from black and white to color. In addition he contributed to the photography revolution in contemporary art.

"Dream Come True"
One upon a time, there were two best friends who absolutely loved to travel. These two young ladies have been saving up enough money to take they’re first trip together to Italy . They were both so nervous, yet so excited to experience new things together and create amazing memories they would never forget. They were similar in many aspects, but at the same time, they were complete opposites. One was very responsible and the other was very careless. The one thing they both absolutely loved was fashion and dreamed to one day have a career in fashion together.
As soon as they boarded the plane, they were in complete awe; Is this really happening? was all that ran through their minds. The instant they landed in Italy , they fell in love with the scenery, food, the lovely people, and, of course, la lingua (“the language”). Everyday, the girls would have lunch at an adorable, quaint pizzeria where they’d discuss their surreal Italian adventure and, above all else, la moda (“the fashion”). One day, while at the pizzeria, a very tall young gentleman had overheard the girls’ conversation from the next table over. He noticed they’re passion for clothing and design; and then decided to approach the two best friends. Upon approaching the girls, he asked the two “fashionistas” if they would like to help design for his upcoming show for the Spring Fashion Line; but little did they know that he was actually a very famous fashion designer.
The two best friends couldn’t help but talk about their experiences and amazing Italian adventure. They were looking through pictures from their trip and fashion show, and couldn’t help but wish they could do it all over again. John, the famous fashion designer from Italy who had offered them a job in Italy as designers, also asked the girls to continue designing once they get back home. The best friend “fashionistas” were offered the job of a life time, and knew it was a trip they would never forget. It was a dream come true… a beautiful, chic dream come true.
